I received this ‘reply’ to the last post via a friend. I am posting it here to be able to respond in a manner that is needed.

Actually, there is NO disconnect between science and God.
In the case presented here, there is a gulf between atheism and God. But not science. It is not necessary to put aside our brain cells and resort to straw man arguments in order to defend our faith. An impressive God creates a universe that has been going for at least thirteen billion years. That is amazing to me both theologically and scientifically.
I don’t have to claim a six-thousand year old earth, or say science is wrong about the big bang, or dispute the previous existence of dinosaurs, ice ages, and evolution. I don’t have to turn my brain cells off because a great God can be behind everthing on that list.
But those who believe in a wimpy God who must adhere to their sense of time and universal development demean God by making Him small enough to fit their measly ability to understand this wonderul universe. And science. And then they have to pander to other small minds by sending their screeds via the internet. How sad.
