It’s the night before Christmas…

We celebrated Christmas today. My family was together and we had a great time. My 3 sons all came and brought Tracy and Rachel. Andrew is just a pleasure to have over at 4 years old and is my first grandson. We missed Katherine but she was spending time with her family and we will be happy to see her tomorrow. Lots of food and a couple of errands along with a little work on Mike’s car. Just family being together. I loved it. We capped it off with a 5pm service at 12Stone church where we learned that God loves us even if we are blockheads (like Charlie Brown).

It’s not real late yet but I’m tired from all the activity and am thinking about bed but before I go I wanted to share the joy of my day and the gratitude I have for God’s blessing on me. I don’t have everything I want but that is the nature of appetite. It is NEVER satisfied. The only word it knows is ‘More!!”. That is the nature of appetite. We have to control it. One way to control it is to make a list of the things we are grateful for.

Here is some of my list:

I know that Jesus Christ is my savior and I am thankful for the gift of Christmas that God has given us. Even a blockhead like me (remember Charlie Brown) was so loved by God that He gave me the gift of eternal life. I am blessed.

I have  much better health this Christmas. I have lost almost 50 pounds and that is double what I said I would do this year. I am blessed.

My family is all together this Christmas and we enjoyed each other’s company. Our dysfunctional side hardly showed at all. The only thing that happened was the moment I told my son that he could not sit with me in church cause I was saving all these seats for my family. Took me a minute to figure out I was talking to my son and not someone trying to take the seats I was saving. What can I say, it was dark (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it). In spite of that moment I am blessed.

I have a business helping people buy and sell houses and the market seems to be getting better. It’s not over but I think the worst of it is. We are in a new normal and I have good clients and am happy to work with the people I know. I am nearly 100% by referral and that is awesome. I am blessed.

We moved into a new home (new to us) and it has no stairs. No stairs. I am blessed. I was able to host a party for those folks that sent me a referral this year and included the people who were active in the referral directory in our new home and we had a ball. It was a great night with great food and good conversation. I am blessed.

Count your blessings before the end of your year. I am.  I have a lot more to be thankful for that but that is a start. What are you thankful for?? What are your goals for the coming new year? Spend some time reflecting and share if you like. I would love to hear from you.

Thanks for listening,
Jerry Robertson
