KW MegaCamp 2020
Yeah, that was different.
Usually, we get 10,000 to 15,000 agents all together in one place. That did not happen. What did happen was 30,000+ gathering online to see some fabulous content and get some great information we can actually use in this bizarre time we are in.
I love MegaCamp as an event. Not just because it’s normally held in Austin but because it’s an event that makes you think outside YOUR box. We all need the blinders removed once in a while to see what’s possible.
We at Keller Williams have 2 big events annually. Family Reunion and MegaCamp. Family Reunion has hundreds of breakout sessions to help you learn all the things you need to know to run your real estate business. It focuses on things you know you need to learn and lets you pick out your focus. I usually focus on working by referral and providing great service.
MegaCamp generally has more large sessions where everyone attends together and you hear things you didn’t even know you needed to hear. This year was a bit different as a digital experience and had several ‘tracks’ you could follow. Listings, Leads, and Leverage are the big 3 that we teach, and then Commercial and Luxury were a couple of specialty tracks.
The Open track and Keynotes made up the rest of the presentations. We got a lot of this information live and were able to interact with the presenter and the team putting it all together as well as with each other. We also have access to all this great info for 60 days and that is a great thing since we can’t possibly absorb all of the content as it’s coming at us.
I love Gary Keller and the market update with focused data about the virus, the market, past pandemics (did you know we experienced a pandemic in 1957?), and how the recovery is likely to look, based on that information. No one has a crystal ball but we can look at history and figure out at least a likely path.
Gary and Jay Papasan went into details about unemployment by sector, ability to purchase real estate by demographic, and a lot more that actually made sense to me and helps me to be able to share that info with my clients and friends.
I’m happy to share what I learned with anyone who wants to know it. I’ll cover more of it on the podcast and a more detailed blog post so watch for that but you can give me a call if you want to discuss the details before I get that done.
If you want to do that, you can click on this link. It will take you to a calendar where you can request a 30-minute time block. I’ll accept and we’ll get on Google Meet to talk face to face. We can go longer than 30 minutes too but we might need to schedule another time if it runs much longer.
It’s free and it might just help if you’re stuck or discouraged in this market. No strings, no pitch, just someone to listen and maybe get you unstuck.
I’m here if you want to reach out.
I hope you will.
Thanks for listening,
Jerry Robertson
