Property Tax Time Again

I just wanted to give you a heads up that our property tax assessment time is upon us again and you will be getting your new assessment notice soon. Check out the assessors website for more info but the thing to be aware of is that new property tax assessments will be mailed on April 6, 2012 for Gwinnett County.

Pay attention to the value they say your property is worth. If you think it is too high based on recent sales in your neighborhood then you need to file an appeal. You can only do that if you owned the property as of Jan 1, 2012.

If you are not sure of the value and want to know if what they have down is too much then please call me (678-231-1578) and I’ll get you a market analysis done to show you what your property is worth in today’s market.

If you purchased the property last year and use it as your primary residence you need to file your homestead exemption too. There are currently 14 exemptions that may apply to you so check out this link for info on that. If I can help please call me and I’ll do all I can.
