Still Crazy…
Ok, I don’t want to sound like I am judging here but I feel like I have to say something about the crazy whack job in Florida that is putting the Koran ‘on trial’ and burning it.
He is not a good representative of Christ in any way. He does not speak for me or most of the folks I know that follow Christ. I do not believe Jesus would condone or encourage his action at all. I won’t put a link to any of the news stories about him or the resulting riots that occurred as a result. I just wanted to say that this sort of behavior does a lot more harm than it does good. Actually, I don’t think it does any good at all.
This guy may further the cause of religion but I know Jesus hated religion. He made it clear in everything he said to the religious leaders of the day and pointed it out every chance he got. I think he would do the same in this case.
It is too easy to follow the ‘rules’ and forget the people. Don’t misunderstand, I believe that Jesus is the only path to salvation but that does not give us the right to judge others and try to impose our beliefs on them. Jesus did not do that either. He offered and still offers but we must choose of our own will to follow.
I believe we should preach the gospel at all times but we should use words only when absolutely necessary. I felt is necessary today.
