Tuesday Tunes – Moody Blues

I love The Moody Blues. My friend Randy posted the first one a couple of days ago and got me started.

I always loved the sound they were able to make and a lot of it came from the Mellotron. Bands like the Moody Blues, King Crimson, and Genesis used this instrument a lot. The Beatles used on several tracks, including Strawberry Fields Forever.

It’s a cool device that samples sounds on tape and plays them when a key is pressed. Kinda old by today’s digital capabilities but really cutting edge at the time.
