Gwinnett Co Taxes Deadline – part two…

Ok, I have been busy doing house values for folks and it has been fun talking to people about how to lower their tax bill for 2011. Any time I can save you money I want to do that. One thing I learned is that Gwinnett County (and Hall County) have said that they will be sending out assessment notices to everyone. The story goes that when you receive a notice and don’t agree with the value shown you can appeal at that time so filing the tax return form is not necessary this year.

Now I want to say that I trust government. I really do want to say that … but I can’t. The fact that the deadline for filing a return will be past before the assessment notices comes just makes me uncomfortable. I hope my fears are unnecessary (as most fears are) but I am also going to tell you to go ahead and file just in case. It does not cost anything, in Gwinnett it takes a few minutes online and it makes sure that you get a reassessment notice in a way that you can appeal your tax value if you don’t agree with it. Sounds like a good plan to me.

As always, feel free to call me anytime or email me if I can help. My business is 97% referral and I love what I get to do to help people so feel free to share and forward this info too. I will take great care of those referrals.

Thanks for listening,
