Hard times come and hard times go. In the midst of it, it’s hard to think they will go.
I was reminded of this song yesterday as one of my friends told me to ‘get better’. I had just come from the ER and while that was not fun, it helped. I should be better through chemistry in a few days. I am certainly better now than when I went in.
Maybe you’re in hard times like I was in 2010. That is when I first heard this song and I played it many times back then as it brought me a bit of hope. Playing it yesterday was a reminder that hard times come and hard times go. The market in 2010 was way different than in 2020 and the reasons I played this song have certainly changed.
Maybe you’re in a hard time. Maybe this will help.
Hope is the environment in which all things thrive
My goal here is to be a carrier of hope.
I did a bit more searching looking for a live version of that song but none of them did Paul or the band justice.
However, this one did. Check it out. It’s in the same vein. It gives me hope there will be live concerts again.
His catalog of music is wide and deep. His story is great and I’d encourage you to check him out but to complete my introduction of you to him, here is one more video and this one reveals his heart. It’s not music but a story.
Well, I decided it’s not fair to tell that story without sharing the song it inspired. I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did.
We are all in the same storm right now but we are not all in the same boat. Part of my mission in life is to comfort the afflicted but also to afflict the comfortable.
I have to say, I stopped listening to the news a few weeks ago (I’m still reading it some) and started listening to my neighbors, talking to people and I’m in a better place. I’m creating my own new normal.
Remember, ‘normal’ is what you’re used to, not necessarily how it ought to be.
We’re likely to be in transition from the old ‘normal’ to a new ‘normal’ for a while and if you’re one of the “afflicted” it might be helpful to talk to someone.
I’m here and I’ll talk with you.
I mean it.
If you want to schedule a call you can click on this link. It will take you to a calendar where you can request a 30-minute time block. I’ll accept and we’ll get on Google Meet to talk face to face. We can go longer than 30 minutes too but we might need to schedule another time.
It’s free and it might just help if you’re stuck. No strings, no pitch, just someone to listen and maybe get you unstuck.
I’m here if you want to reach out.
I hope you will.
Thanks for listening,
